Anyone who enjoyed The Day the Crayons Quit will enjoy this book as well. If you have not read the first Crayons book, you need to know that a boy named Duncan gets notes from his crayons, letting him know they are unhappy with how they are treated and have decided to quit. In this second book, Duncan has left some crayons behind and neglected them once again, so they send him postcards as they make their way home or plead for a rescue. There were some times my boys and I laughed out loud, just like with the last book. (The page where the brown crayon is upset that he has had to draw a bear pooping in the woods was a favorite part for my kindergartner.) Do not buy it for the "Glow in the dark!" sticker on the front because those pages aren't that great. Get it for the silly stories. It is not all that different from the first book, but that is why kids will love it. I read the first book aloud at a reading event at the school, and the kids enjoyed it. I know this one will be a hit, too!
